1. About Rob at the Woodshed

Rob at the Woodshed is the trading name of Rob Thorpe, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.

These Terms of Service apply when you use our website or buy products through our online shop. By placing an order, you agree to these terms, together with the relevant policies linked below. Nothing in these terms takes away any rights you have under applicable consumer law.

2. Our products

We make and sell handcrafted wooden items, including bowls and spoons. Because these pieces are made using natural wood and traditional woodworking methods, each item is individual.

Natural differences in wood grain, colour, markings and appearance are part of the character of handmade woodenware. Product photographs and descriptions are intended to give you an accurate impression, although colours may look slightly different on different screens.

We take care to describe and photograph our products accurately. Natural variation does not affect your statutory rights if an item is faulty or not as described.

3. Orders and payment

When you place an order, please check that your selected items, delivery address and contact details are correct.

You will see the price and any applicable delivery charges before completing your purchase. Payment must be made using one of the payment methods offered at checkout.

We will send an order confirmation by email. If we cannot fulfil an order, for example because an item is unavailable or there has been a genuine pricing error, we will contact you and arrange any refund due.

A confirmation email does not affect your statutory rights.

4. Prices

All prices are shown in pounds sterling (£). Any applicable delivery charge will be shown before you complete your order.

We may change prices or product availability for future orders. A price change will not alter the agreed price of an order already accepted.

5. Delivery

We currently deliver to addresses within the United Kingdom.

Delivery charges, dispatch arrangements and further information are set out in our Shipping Policy. Orders are usually posted on the next working day, unless Rob is away or circumstances prevent this. Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by the postal service.

We will fulfil orders within the agreed timeframe or, where no other timeframe has been agreed, within the period required by law.

Your rights are not affected by postal delays. We remain responsible for the goods until they are delivered to you, except where the law provides otherwise.

6. Cancellations, returns and refunds

Our Return and Refund Policy explains how to request a cancellation, return an item or obtain a refund.

Customers buying online generally have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of receiving their goods, subject to applicable exceptions. Different rules may apply to certain personalised or specially commissioned items.

Your statutory rights regarding faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods remain unaffected. Nothing in these terms limits any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

7. Intellectual property

The text, photographs, designs, branding and other original content on this website belong to Rob at the Woodshed or are used with permission.

You may view the website and its content for personal use. You must not reproduce or use our photographs, written content, branding or other protected material for commercial purposes without prior permission, except where permitted by law.

Buying a wooden item does not transfer copyright or other intellectual property rights in photographs, designs or website content.

8. Website information and availability

We take reasonable care to keep the website information accurate and up to date. Occasionally, errors or omissions may occur, or a product may become unavailable.

If an error materially affects an order, we will contact you to discuss an appropriate solution. We will not use this section to avoid our obligations under consumer law.

We may update the website, add products or discontinue products from time to time.

9. Third-party services and links

Our website is hosted by Shopify and may link to third-party websites or services, including payment providers and social media platforms.

Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies. This does not remove any responsibility Rob at the Woodshed has for an order placed through our shop.

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used and shared when you visit our website or place an order.

11. Liability and your legal rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful. In particular, these terms do not remove your statutory rights concerning goods that are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to meet the requirements of applicable consumer law.

We will meet our obligations under the contract and applicable law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when our business practices or legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this page with its latest update date.

The terms applying to an order will not be changed retrospectively to the detriment of a customer without an appropriate legal basis.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, where applicable. This does not deprive consumers of any mandatory legal protections that apply to them.
